The Benefits of Garden Tool
Organizers
How many times have you walked into your garage or storage shed, only to shake your head at the mess of
disheveled garden tools that abound? Probably enough times to realize that a garden tool organizer would save you a
lot of time, trouble, and frustration when it comes to rummaging through all that clutter in search of the one
vital item. For the handy and headstrong it would be a cinch to whip up a do-it-yourself style organizer, but for
the majority of us, its worth the small investment to purchase a garden tool organizer to put some rhyme and reason
to the disorder.
Once you have made the decision that it’s time for a garden organizer, the next step is to determine just what
type of organizer you need. This largely depends on the size of your garden as well as the size and quantity of the
equipment you use. For smaller gardens or the part-time gardener, it might only take a $10-$20 investment for a
wall mounted tool rack and a few wall hooks or brackets for your garden shears, spades, and hand rakes. For those
into heavy-duty gardening, you might find yourself investing a $100 or more for a complete wall organizer with
shelves, hooks, and storage bins, or a special holder for shovels, rakes, hoes, and similar items.

At first glance, spending $100 just to put a little organization to the mess your garage has become might seem
extreme. However, consider the time and possible money you may save by adding such a feature to your garden tool
storage area. Remember -- there is a reason you have three spades all the same size and shape. The year you lost
the first one was when it was hidden behind the bag of grass seed. The second one you later found buried behind
that pile of gardening gloves. What about that bent up rake you kept stepping on and then ran over with the car
when you left it lying on garage floor? A small fortune down the drain because you didn’t have a good organizer to
keep everything up and in place. And just think of all the room you’ll be saving by keeping things organized.
But before you run out and buy the newest, biggest, and best organizer out there, consider the space in which it
will be used. Having a massively oversized wall organizer for you tiny storage shed probably isn’t the best idea.
Nor do you need such an item it you only have a couple of tools. Therefore, measure your space, take an inventory
of your tools, and then purchase the organizer that will fit best.
