Garden Power
Tools
The new age of garden tools has changed the way people all over the world work in their yards. Powered garden
tools do a number of things that enable untrained individuals to create professional results. One of the biggest
advantages of using power tools in the garden is the efficiency of the work they do. Using hand-held pruning
shears, for instance, is incredibly tedious and can put a lot of strain on the hands and forearms. Electric shears
and hedge trimmers do twice as much work as the manual equivalents in half the time with a quarter of the physical
fatigue. It is an excellent advantage for those who don't have the time or energy to spend hours in the yard but do
not care to hire a third party to handle yard work responsibilities.
The most noticeable con of a power garden tool is the power itself. The cords can be cumbersome and get in the
way of the operator. Cordless units running on fuel can generate a lot of heat and fumes. As advancements in
technology continue to be made for greener products one can expect these adverse effects to dwindle. Generally,
with an appropriate amount of extension cords and the proper safety precautions, getting power to the power tool
becomes and insignificant inconvenience.

Similar to the progress made in kitchen utensils and do-it-yourself products, power garden tools generate a wide
array of inventory. There are tools designed to do every project. Many tools specialize in one part of the yard or
one task. Some are considered multi-purpose and encompass a broad spectrum of work. The most standard power tools
for the garden, with some creativity and innovation, can be used for more than one job. Weed whackers can be used
to line mulch beds and edge driveways. Hedge trimmers can be used for manicuring as well as cutting excess weeds or
overgrowth.
The increase in popularity of power tools and competitive pricing means that the average consumer can afford a
much finer product than previous markets. It did not make sense for a homeowner to invest in a set of powered tools
for the garden at high prices. The purchase of these tools now proves a less expensive alternative to professional
service. The average homeowner with time to give the task at hand can feasibly produce a professional looking lawn
without the intervention of a trained gardener or landscaper.
